Abstract

Abstract: The legislative authority and executive branch plays a key role in supporting the family through implementing social, health, and education policies in Iraq and Syria. Family support in Iraq is based on the constitution and social welfare and personal status laws, while Syria relies on the constitution and similar laws. Government programs in both countries include financial assistance, health and education services, and programs to protect women and children. Although there are laws to combat domestic violence, implementation faces challenges due to social customs and weak funding. Economic and bureaucratic crises and weak coordination between government agencies hinder the effectiveness of these policies, calling for increased funding, coordination, and awareness to ensure family stability.
