Criminal protection of diplomatic missions
Abstract
The issue of the criminal protection of diplomatic missions has become an essential element in the exercise of diplomatic function and has assumed a prominent place in the diplomatic representation system, where the extension of diplomats has been an important and vital environment for the success of their missions.
In order to unify the criminal protection enjoyed by diplomatic missions between States, the international community has resorted to the elaboration of an international treaty guaranteeing the stability and unification of diplomatic immunity between States without being affected by the existing international relations. The Sixth Committee of the United Nations A draft international convention on the establishment of diplomatic bases, called the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which was submitted to and ratified by States in 1961 and subsequently several international conventions were adopted which guaranteed the criminal protection of diplomatic items.
